The school holidays are the perfect time for children to take part in fun activities. For children whose mother tongue is not Dutch, this is also an opportunity to learn and practise the language during the holidays. With this in mind, GC de Boesdaalhoeve and De Horizon are organising entertaining and educational Dutch workshops. The well-rounded programme is an opportunity to enjoy a unique weeklong experience of the Dutch language. The monitors will encourage the children to speak Dutch while they play, even though these workshops are not supposed to be language courses.

Theme: A trip back in time

We are looking for time travellers who have a taste for adventure! Who relish the prospect of travelling through time, all the way back to the formation of planet Earth. A chance to meet dinosaurs, knights and pirates! How would it feel to live as a prince and princess in the Middle Ages? As well as travelling back in time, we will also be flying forwards. To discover what life and the world will be like in 50 years' time. Why not join us on our journey?

Who is it for?

Children from the 2nd year of kindergarten to the 6th year of primary school (born in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 & 2010) - with a basic knowledge of Dutch.

When

From Tuesday, 16 to Friday, 19 August 2022.

The activities start at 9 am and end at 4 pm. Please bring your child to the course by 8.45 am at the latest. Staff are on hand to look after the children from 8 am to 5 pm.

Meals

Remember to provide your child with a packed lunch, something to drink and a biscuit every day. They will be given something to drink and a biscuit/fruit at 10 o'clock. 

Clothing

Ensure your child wears comfortable clothes that are OK to get dirty and are easy to move around in.
