The school holidays are the perfect time for children to take part in fun activities. For children whose mother tongue is not Dutch, this is also an opportunity to learn and practise the language during the holidays. With this in mind, vzw ‘de Rand’ and Panta Rhei vzw are organising entertaining and educational Dutch workshops. The well-rounded programme is an opportunity to enjoy a unique weeklong experience of the Dutch language. The monitors will encourage the children to speak Dutch while they play, even though these workshops are not supposed to be language courses.

Circus

Welcome to the circus! Nellie is a magnificent acrobat. Pipa is hilarious. Gus is sometimes sad. Ricco is very practical, but things sometimes go wrong for him: he doesn't understand Dutch yet. The head of the circus helps him to prepare a good show for Friday.

Every morning the circus folk greet the children with a story or a song. The activities then get off to a start in different groups, formed according to the children's ages. They have the opportunity to play, make things, move about, sing …

Children are expected at 8.45 a.m. Activities start at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

Staff is on hand to look after the children from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meals

Give your child a packed lunch to bring along each day. At 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. the children get a drink and a cookie.

Also te bring along

A change of clothes and an apron.
